Huber + Suhner’s Berkol automatic grinders are examined and the company’s system of fully automatic grinding of the top rollers used in newly developed spinning processes. The methods by which the Berkol top rollers are used in the Murata airjet spinning process are described. Compact spinning is also studied and the Berkol grinding system applied to the top rollers of the K 40 ComforSpin machine from Rieter. The Suessen EliTe spinning process can also utilize the Berkol technology. The Berkol grinding systems and automatic grinders are highly flexible, being based on a modular structure. A very wide range of top roller designs is therefore possible. A summary of six listed advantages of the Berkol grinding systems concludes.
