In order to assess the final quality of a yarn at the design stage it is necessary to take into account the properties of the fibre and the properties of the sorting process. For his it is necessary to develop a method of evaluating sorting quality and to establish the interdependence between the quality of fibre sorting and the type of yarn. A method of determining the functional and statistical interdependences between these elements was developed using an 18.5 tex cotton yarn as an example.
