The effects of the air sorting of cotton, wool and cottonised linen fibres was investigated. The paper presents equations to solve the problem of disturbance on the surface of a single fibre during air sorting. It examines the influence of the Reynolds number on the resistance to the air flow of a cylindrical fibre situated perpendicular to the flow.
