The process of electro static spinning is used in open end spinning process for the insertion of twist as well as for better fibre control in a yarn. The Electrospin Corp. of the US developed the electrostatic in the late 1960s. The purpose of this work is to investigate the potentialities and limitations of break spinning as applied to the spinning of fibres of cotton staple length. The electrostatic field is used to orient the fibre, but a mechanical device carries twisting. However, the electrostatic field may also be used to introduce twist by rotating the electrostatic field.
