Approximately 2,000 visitors attended Yarn Fair International 2002. In addition to United States manufacturers, participants included many foreign exhibitors and agents with overseas principals. Approximately 45 percent were first time participants. The Trends Forum for fall and winter 2003-2004 emphasized yarns with a natural or rough appearance; blends of natural fibers and/or manmade fibers; and fancy, woolen, and worsted yarns. Demand for supported and unsupported flat metallic yarns from Lurex Incorporated was high. A group of computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing suppliers introduced products that accelerate sample production.
