Fully Automated Dyeing System.

The Italian firm Loris Bellini recently designed a new dyeing system for worsted yarn packages. The system features computer controlled RBNV dyeing machines linked by a fully roboticized internal transport network that handles the yarn packages throughout the entire manufacturing cycle. The process control unit automatically adjusts operating parameters, such as liquor levels, variable loading levels (from 30 to 100 percent), dyebath pH levels and temperatures, flow rates, and differential pressures. The process control unit also supervises the processing of dyeing recipes, the storage of raw dyestuffs, and the materials handling robots. The dosing stations are of the gravimetric type. Field tests of the dyeing system indicated that it could reliable process dye batches with weights ranging from 10 to 1,400 kilograms per color.
