On yarn count and twist level of throstle-spun yarn

In this report the main factors determining the linear density and the twist level of throstle-spun yarn are analysed and discussed. It is found that the twist level and the linear density of throstle-spun yarn depends on the efficiency of rotation of the stuffer tube and the inherent constant of the raw material, respectively. It is also clear that the throstle-spinning process had a dynamically auto-balancing mechanism between the yarn count and twist level of the yarn produced.
