Memminger's model MPF-K positive yarn feeder has a new vibration brake on the inlet side. The brake has magnetic brake rings that vibrate when the feeder is switched on, providing an continual rotary motion. THe motion of the yarns drive the brake rings. The yarns run in the opposite direction of the brake rings, which ensures that the yarn does not jump out of the brake discs. Because of their rotary motion, the brake rings are self cleaning. Other advantages include the elimination of incorrect inlet sensor stoppages due to dirty brakes, incrased efficiency dur to a decreased in machine downtime, increase in the service life of the brake disc, lower maintenance costs, easy cleaning due to the axle-free brake ring mounting, and fewer spare parts required.
