A yarn creel has vertical ducts with openings through which air is direted towards the upper surfaces of yarn cones mounted on pins. Yarn drawn off the cones leaves the creel, the entrance ends of which are contained within a further duct. This duct has slots through which air is drawn from inside the creel. A fan re-circulates this air so that it is readmitted through openings in the vertical ducts. A continuous air stream is thus created over those points which are most susceptible to lint accumulation. An alternative embodiment is also specified. IPC D02H D04B.
