Magnolia Manufacturing Co.'s new staple yarn spinning operation at Hillsville, VA, USA is now operating at a high standard of efficiency. The operation comprises a combed ring spinning plant, producing 300,000 lb per week and an air-jet spinning plant with a capacity of 350 000 lb per week. The ring spinning machines were supplied by Schlafhorst and air-jet spinning by Muratec. Details are provided on the opening, blending and carding system supplied by Trutzschler. Information is also given on the plant support services including the testing laboratory.
