Structural limits in false-twist spinning

In is well known now that wrapped yarns can be spun by inserting false-twist to the staple fibres immediately after leaving the front nips of the drafting system. The false-twist can be inserted by air-jet or by any other mechanical twister. In the case of air jet, one or two jets can be used. In all cases, it is possible that cork-screw shaped fibres appear at different intervals along the yarn. This phenomena affects the yarn quality and appearance negatively. The formation of such cork-screw shaped parts in the yarn, their cause, conditions of formation and structural limits of false-twist spinning, are the main impack of this study.
