Comparison of production costs for ring yarns and Autocoro yarns

Costs are compared for spinning 100％ cotton knitting yarns of Nm 60 at 400kg/h in a plant equipped for ring spinning and a similar plant equipped for rotor open-end spinning. Ring spinning is carried out on an RSM and an Auto-spin-Coner, rotor spinning on an Autocoro. A comparison of total production costs shows a difference of 40％ in favour of the rotor yarns. Investment costs, space required, energy consumption and the cost of spare parts are included in the calculations.
