Filament blending in air-jet texturing. Further observations of the appearance of blended air-jet textured yarns and fabrics

The aim of this study is to attempt to relate the blending parameters describing the level of blending to the surface appearance of air-jet textured yarns. The reflectance of the yarn surface is measured and an assessment is made of its variation along the yarn length. Expressions are derived to quantify the frequencies and amplitude of surface shade variations. This information is used as input data in describing the appearance of yarns in computer-aided woven fabric simulation. There are 12 references.
