Courtaulds has been developing finer decitex fibres for use in nonwovens. Such fibres are used in dry-laid nonwovens for a lower base weight, increased fabric strength, better wicking performance, improved cover, and better barrier and filter performance, improved cover, and better barrier and filter performance. Suitable finishes for use with finer fibres are also being developed by Courtaulds.
