Fancy yarns are composed of several threads that are twisted together at different delivery speeds. The components of fancy yarns include core thread, effect thread, and fixing thread. Conventional fancy yarns are produced on a ring twisting system. Fancy yarns can also be produced on a so-called combined system, which combines the hollow spindle system with the ring twisting system. Loop fancy yarns were produced on the combined system. Mohair and acrylic yarns were used for the effect thread and fixing thread, respectively. Two finenesses of acrylic yarn were used for the core thread. The effects of an under-twist with an S twist direction and an over-twist with a Z twist direction were considered. Loop linear density and loop circumference were analyzed. 17 refs.
