The Fiber Distribution Center (FDC) and Fiber Research Center (FRC) of Parkdale Mills Inc. are both located in Belmont, USA. The FDC receives and tests all of the company's cotton which gives the benefit of supplying cotton with the same characteristics to multiple plants. The operation of the centre and examples of its innovation are described. Examples of innovation from the FRC, including the counting of neps and measuring short fibre in noil, are also discussed.
