Researchers studied the breaking strength and flexural rigidity of spliced yarn. As the level of the ends preparation air volume increased, the breaking strength of the spliced yarn increased, the bending stiffness decreased, and the bending hysteresis increased. Increasing the level of the ends retraction resulted in and increase in the breaking strength of spliced yarn and an increase in the bending stiffness and bending hysteresis. Increasing the cycle time decreased the breaking strength, decreased the bending stiffness, and increased the bending hysteresis of the spliced yarn.
