Fabric quality requirement comrpises of two factors, fabric properties and fabric faults. Shuttleless looms are more sensitive to imperfections and hairiness of both warp and weft yarn, so in order to sustain the higher tension, due to higher speeds, better yarn strength and elongation, together with higher resistance to friction and fewer weak places are the basic requirements of yarns for shuttleless weaving. In knitting, consumer demand is usually for softer fabrics. On the technical side, this calls for less dust and fly during knitting, less spirality of the knitted fabric, and a very homogeneous structure i.e., no clouds, stripes or other irregularities.
