Savio Machine Tessili developed a new two-for-one twisting machine for coated and natural elastomeric yarns. Savio's Geminis two-for-one twisting machine reaches speeds of 7,000-8,000 rpm for cotton yarns and 6,000-7,000 rpm for woolen yarns. A special spindle head has a reduced slipping surface, a double eyelet unwinder, and a balancing cradle with special pins for controlling yarn reserves. Removal of the conventional piston inside the spindle prevents potentially harmful elastomer deposits. Elastomer masking offers reduced filament breakage, fewer dye defects, and higher quality yarns. The Geminis two-for-one twisting machine processes any type of yarn with few machine alterations.
