Research developed a new class of carbonic acid polyester auxiliaries that offers integrated environmental protection. These new spin finishes, coning oils, and lubricants combine biologically degradable, low molecular weight polyadducts. Tallopol 7496 offers excellent frictional, spray, and abrasion properties, as well as excellent surface resistance even with 50-80 percent fewer oil applications. Tallopol 7496 also offers excellent biological degradation, low emissionn values, water solubility, and high thermal stability. Three types of Tallopol are available for texturing, winding, warping, and twisting polyester filaments. Other products under development are a viscose filament lubricant, nylon spinning lubricants, and exhaust dyeing lubricants for polyester. Although these products cost more, they offer savings in washing processes, exhaust gas cleaning, and wastewater treatment. 2 refs.
