A letter to the editor replies to comments on a paper published by Sasser et al. in the February 1991 issue of Textile Research Journal on the relationship between yarn strength and fiber strength. Sasser used data on yarn tenacity from a paper published by Ramey et al. in a 1977 issue of Textile Research Journal to derive the relationship. The comments focused on errors in transferring data. Data in Table II for the tenacity of 27 tex ring and open end rotor spun yarns are correct for the tenacity of ring spun yarns, but the strength data for the 27 tex rotor spun yarns were, in fact, data for 12 tex ring spun yarns. In this letter to the editor, Sasser acknowledges and apologizes for the error.
