Research used image processing techniques to analyze the geometrical properties of the interstices between the filaments of a section of continuous filament polyester yarn. The technique used the concept of connection degree and fuzzy surface based on fuzzy theory to describe the uncertainty in the shape of each interstice. The technique modeled the polyester yarn in the longitudinal direction and tracked the capillaries. 11 refs.
