Twist level of triplet spun silk yarn (Japanese)

In order to improve the strength of yarn and diversify of yarn structure, a triplet spun silk yarn was made by using an experimental ring-spinning frame. The twist levels of triplet spun silk yarns were examined under various spinning conditions. And then, the relationships between twist levels and spinning conditions of triplet spun yarn were also discussed. By the resutl, it was found that the triplet spun yarn was able to have ply and strand twists in spite of the single twisting process, and that the sum of ply and strand twist levels in the triplet spun yarn was numerically almost equal to the twist level of single yarn in the same count (the coefficient of correlation: r = 0997). Furthermore, it was known that these two twist levels were affected by the spinning conditions, that is, varying of nominal twist level, strand spacing and linear density of strand.
