Researchers investigating the effect of fiber length and fiber strength on the tensile properties of yarn prepared yarn samples from polyester fibers of 1.0, 1.2, and 1.4 deniers with three staple lengths of 38, 44, and 51 millimeters. A series of tests determined the percentage increase in yarn tenacity, percentage increase in strength realization, and percentage decrease in yarn elongation percentage. An increase in fiber length decreased the elongation of polyester yarns.
