For the cost effective manufacture of circular knit fabrics, the knitting Oasys yarn simulation system comprises two main components: a measuring device (and computer hardware) and software modules that permit customization to the user's operational requirements. The Knitting Oasys module is for single jersey fabrics whereas the Knitting Oasys Plus module is suitable for jersey, rib, and pique interlock. The packages can be arranged freely and any color can be assigned to the yarns. Specifications include stitch densities, course densities, and the number of needles. The Oasys system also uses an optical profile sensor from Barco (Corolab) that conducts measurement functions using standard infrared light and detects neps, thick places, and thin places. Zweigle offers the entire installation with computer hardware.
