Electrotex's Metrotex length metering unit can be retrofitted on winders without an electrical trigger. The retrofit winder is then capable of producing precision, length-metered yarn spools. Each rotation of the drum generates an electrical pulse in the sensor, which is summed by the Metrotex. The thread monitor terminates summing when a thread breaks. When the summed length reaches the set value, the electrical trigger trips. After the spool is changed, the Metrotex resets to zero and begins summing.
