The dependence of the frictional properties of nylon yarn on twist was analyzed. A power relationship with an identical exponent was found to describe this dependence. The yarn samples had a linear density of 6.7 tex, in which the twist was varied from 100 to 600 twists per minute. The coefficient of friction decreased with an increase in twist and a decrease in the speed of yarn feed. The coefficient of friction increased with an increase in the speed of the yarn feed and a decrease in the preliminary yarn tension. 3 refs.
