The hollow-spindle wrap-spinning process was used to prepare fancy yarns by varying both machine conditions and fiber types. Critical control parameters and characteristic yarn properties were identified. For example, a boucle-derivative yarn was evaluated in both woven and knit fabrics. This yarn was capable of simulating a terry-pile effect in these fabrics.
