The behavior of friction spun yarns is compared with that of ring and rotor spun yarns when subjected to abrasion and repeated extensions. Testing confirms that DREF III friction spun yarns show less resistance to abrasion and repeated extensions than both ring and rotor spun yarns. The ring spun yarns show the best resistance to repeated extension and break elongation, and rotor spun yarns show the best abrasion resistance. 7 refs.
