The fatigue life of open end, ring spun, and siro spun yarns is investigated using the technique of biaxial rotation over a pin. Open end yarns have a significantly higher fatigue life than ring spun yarns. Mercerization increases fatigue life. For siro spun yarns, an increase in strand spacing increases fatigue life in a linear manner. 11 refs.
