The illusion that air mingling improves the processing properties of yarn without altering any other yarn properties is dispelled. Various steel and ceramic air mingling nozzles are discussed. The yarn properties of PES 50 dtex f34, PES 167 dtex x2, and combination elastane 80 dtex + PA 44 dtex manufactured with 3 different size nozzles are studied. The Interlace Counter RIC Ⅱis used to examine the degree of mingling. Altered fabric thickness, different fabric character, altered yarn linear density, and raised elasticity are some of the yarn property changes that can occur. 1ref.
