The shrinkage properties of the various polyesters used in Toray's Shin-Gosen fabrics impart a supple drape and a worsted-like hand. The new Shin-Gosen polyesters are Sildew, a two-filament composite; Miraclare, a multi-layered entangled composite; Moranna, also a multi-entangled composite, and Chatelaine, made of filaments with varying shrinkage ability and micro crates. The yarns are feature in fabrics offering a suede surface, a silk texture, or a twill appearance. Some shin-gosen yarns are also featured in blends of nylon and conventional polyester. Toray is also offering fabrics colored by an engraving print technique, for a blurred, photographic effect.
