An overview of methods for multicomponent elastane yarn quality analysis using object oriented process analysis focuses on the air jet yarn texturing process as an example. Object oriented analysis represents process and product information and their interactive relationships. Applying object oriented structuring using the object model of production to the manufacture of air jet textured elastane multicomponent yarns shows the process sequence from the introduction of raw materials into the balance capsule to the finished product. Defining the required processing capability determines whether a process yields the required quality. Property profiles use the interrelationship betweenproducton parameters and downsttream processing characteristics to reveal processing properties of resultant yarns.
