The development of new biodegradable films based on blends of biotransformed cellulose and starch is presented. A preparation method for blended films using alkaline solutions of a mixture of biotransformed cellulose and starch is described. Their mechanical properties, as well as their susceptibility to biodegradation, are also discussed.
