In the ComforSpin process from Rieter, an intermediate zone is inserted between the draft and yarn formation. The ready drafted fibre structure is condensed laterally by means of aerodynamic forces in this intermediate zone. The fibre structure which is fed to the spinning triangle is so narrow that the spinning triangle becomes so small it virtually disappears. All the fibres from the remaining triangle are collected and fully integrated in the yarn, resulting in a perfect yarn structure. The COM4 yarns have improved strength and elongation values, reduced yarn hairiness, an improved wear resistance compared with conventional ring-spin yarns. End products made from COM4 yarns look more attractive, have improved luster and are pleasanter to the touch.
