Antibacterial products using silver

Japanese firms Toyoshima, Nippon Wishborn and Reiko have jointly commercialised the production of a special silver yarn for use in the manufacture of anti-bacterial products. The yarn is made by vacuum evaporation of a transparent film with pure silver, laminating it and cutting it into a flat shape. The fibres can be used to make products such as towels, bedclothes and bedroom items.
