COM4 yarns spun using Rieter's ComforSpin process feature better cross wound package quality and permit substitution of single yarns for plied yarns while improving the running properties of knitting machines and the quality of knit fabrics. The ComforSpin process permits the manufacture of innovative soft ply yarns, reduces the use of sizes, increases the environmental friendliness of fabric manufacturing, and improves weaving efficiency. Comparative studies with identical rovings demonstrated the advantages of the compacting process during winding, twisting, knitting, weaving, and finishing.
