Hamel, which designed and manufactured the Elasto Twister LE yarn covering machine, is collaborating with Santoni, a manufacturer of full fashioned circular knitting machines. The Elasto Twister LE achieves 18,000 rpm for 1 kilogram spindles with a maximum delivery speed of 80 meters per minute, as well as a 45 percent reduction in energy consumption. A patented spindle bore permits the processing of elastanes with fineness of 8 dtex at a covering draft of 2. The programmable transverse servo motor and the 8 inch or 10 inch yarn package build also permit the knot-free production of 1.3 kilogram or 2.6 kilogram finished spools. The collaboration will give Santoni customers the opportunity to use high quality covered yarns for a variety of products.
