Yarn defects reduce fabric quality and grade, delay deliveries, and increase costs and waste. Spinner's double defects involve double thickness in the yarn and result from two roving yarns simultaneously entering the drafting system during ring spinning, fiber strands from the front roll commingling with adjacent ends at the ring bobbin, and roving overlaps during replacement of creel bobbins. Corkscrew defects in two ply doubled yarns result in yarn breaks during winding and fabric streaks. Proper maintenance and setting of Pneumafil ducts and tentering machines eliminate corkscrew defects. include crackers, snarling, bottoms, slough off, soft bobbins, ring cuts, hairiness, yarn mixing, and contamination.
