Hamel AG and Santoni collaborated on the Hamel Elasto Twister LE covering machine that processes filament, staple fiber, and blend yarns. The balloonless covering system uses lwo yarn tension to yield high volume covered yarns with excellent uniformity. The Elasto Twister features a 1 kilogram spindle, a delivery speed of 80 meters per minute, and operating speeds of up to 18,000 rpm. The hollow spindle design operates with elastane yarns as fine as 8 dtex. The 8-10 inch traverse of the takeup package generates knot-free packages of either 1.3 kilograms or 2.6 kilograms.
