The hairiness of cotton yarns

Fifty years ago, yarn hairiness was regarded as almost a curious yarn property that sometimes was capable of interfering with textile processes and of producing trouble during weaving and knitting. In the decade of the 1950s, this curious property was converted into a measurable yarn parameter. For the authors work comprehensive investigation into the technological process has been proposed with the inclusion of the following into the experiments: a card autoleveller, different numbers of drowframe passages and ring-spinning and the rotor-spinning machines.
