Compliance with environmental regulations regarding effluents is often a complex and costly affair for textile mills. A simple and economic method of reducing wastewater volume uses a combined treatment of all effluents by screening them in an equalization tank. The process includes skimming and scraping through a clarifier and cleaning effluent with vacuum cleaners or centrifugal machines. The treatment plant can be constructed in a small area. Additional money can be saved by recycling the treated effluent. 7 refs.
