The F40 company, a dyeing and printing plant located near Cono. Italy, has constructed a complex wastewater treatment facility. The treatments system purifies effluents to levels suitable for direct discharge into the environment. The exclusively biological treatment method totally eliminates dyes, ammonia, and organic nitrogen in the wastewater, producing limited volumes of biological waste and harmless sludge. The treatment plant has very low operating costs and provides for the recovery and reuse of wastewater.
