The authors discuss photocatalytic decolorization of municipal effluent contaminated wiht textile dyes. The photocatalyst is Degussa titanium dioxide and proves to be effective in dye degrdation when irradiated with ultraviolet light in the presence of air. As the decolorization rate is weakly dependent on temperature, no significant losses in rates are suffered by operating under ambient conditions.
