Klieveerik recently patented a design for a squeegee machine that removes rotary screen printing pastes. Klieverik's design features vertically positioned squeegees that are arrayed over troughs leading to a slurry tank. Pressurized water pumps ensure that the squeegees are cleaned continuously within the washing chamber, which is watertightwhen closed. Klieverik claims that its new design reduces water consumption from 50 to 700 percen per run compared with conventional squeegee washing systems. In addition, Klieverik's squeegee machine takes up far less floor space than conventional designs due to its vertical layout. The squeegee machine can even be installed between existing rotary screen printing machines for increased efficiency. Currently, the squeegee machine can process printed fabric with a maximum width of 1,850 milimeters. Versions containing longer squeegees are in development.
