A multiple extruder system, based on cascade extrusion which has mulitple extruders operating sequentially, is being developed by Davis-Standard from Pawcatudk, Connecticut, This US company is a world supplier of extrusion systems suitable for handling polymer waste. The feed uses othe Ram-Stuffer, which has been designed to cope with a diversity of feed stock. Operating in tandem are two adjustable separately driven extruders. The Cascade system may have either a single or twin screw extrusion system in either, or both, stages of the process. Filtration removes volatiles so that the extruders give a very uniform melt discharge, permitting the final product to be made directly from recyled feed shock.
