Johannes Menschner Maschinenfabrik recently introduced its Superfinish GFP-2 continuous decating machine. Based on the design of its Contidec Superfinish 2 (introduced in 1989), Menschner's Superfinish GFP-2 facilitates closed circuit decating under controlled humidity. Depending on the amount of fabric comprssion expecte during the evaporation process, typical operation temperatures range from 125 and 140 degrees centigrade. Menschner's patented Hygromat system monitors temperature an pressure via a sensor that sets the steam saturation level in accordance with operational parameters, such as fabric density, fabric pore volume, uptake capacity, initial moisture content, and batch speed. During operation, the sensor adjusts the system moisture content by referring to the target saturation level. The design of the Superfinish GFP-2 complies with ISO 9000 and UNI-EN 29000 standards.
