Weiss Umwelttechnik recently upgraded its Weiss BAM Global-UV laboratory test unit. The Weiss BAM Global-UV simulates the photochemical deterioration of such materials as plastics (according to the DIN 53 384-B and 53 384-C test methods), polymer based coatings, textiles, and paints (according to the NF-P 84 402 test method). The test unit generates photochemically effective solar radiation in the spectral wavelength range from 290 to 450 nanometers under controlled temperatures and humicdities. Addition features of the Weiss BAM Global-UV permit testers to subject materials to infrared radiation, ultraviolet radiation, acid rain, and aerosol free evaporative humidification.
