A new method of incorporating dyeing and finishing liquids directly into felts in recommended. The liquors are injected through cannulae into the interior of the felt and completely penetrate the fabric structure. Injection is accomplished by passing the fabric over a flat needle matrix. Excessive liquor is removed by a squeeze roller. This type of treatment ensures a high homogeneity of the liquor within the product, shorter treatment times, and improved quality and evenness of dyed shades, but the surface structure of the felt may be changed during injection.
