The ligand curcurbituril selectively removed acid dyes from aqueous solutions. Passing the solutions through a column filled with the solid ligand effected removal. An investigation of factors influencing the formation of insoluble dye complexes determined that the chemical structure of the dye molecules and the pH of the solution were important for complex formation. 14 refs.
